Ηistorical route
The voices, documents and stories presented here aim to build the public’s collective memory of the extermination of 500,000 men, women and children during Nazi-Fascism.
At least half of Europe's Roma and Sinti population was annihilated. The events narrated and documented are part of European history that has been long silenced and forgotten. Historical erasure has allowed the same racist stereotypes to remain active to this day.
This virtual museum traverses history and memory to offer a key to recognising and deconstructing those prejudices that still affect Sinti and Roma in the present.
